This Sherman was photographed in Waconia, MN, in 2012. The plaque states it is a combination of an M4A2 and M4A3 that never saw combat. However, it really appears to be an M4A3 initial hull (note the hinged direct vision ports on the front glacis and thick weld up the center below the gun lock) with a late M4A3 engine deck (note the fuel filter cap configuration) with the air intake grills upgraded with heavy duty hinges seen on post-WWII Shermans.

Things to note are the casting mark on the underside of the differential case; the position of the plug holders welded to the side of the headlight brush guards; the different stampings on the bogey units; the rounded corner where the bottom of the back plate meets the floor of the hull; and the comb on the nose.
